Whistle Stop Learning Center offers care and enrichment opportunities for school-age children ages 5 to 12, providing a safe, engaging place for kids to learn, explore, and have fun outside of the traditional school day and school year.

School Age Care
Our school-age program supports families by offering care during no-school days, school breaks, and snow days. Children enjoy structured activities, games, and time to relax with friends in a familiar, supportive environment. Our goal is to create a space where school-age children feel comfortable, connected, and excited to spend their time when school is out.

Summer Camp
Whistle Stop Summer Camp gives children the chance to enjoy summer to the fullest while building friendships and creating lasting memories. Camp operates during the summer weeks from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, led by experienced camp counselors who value strong relationships, meaningful experiences, and plenty of fun.

Children participate in multiple field trips each week, exploring all that Benzie County has to offer. Adventures include visits to Point Betsie Lighthouse, Cognition, the Oliver Art Center, Hilltop Soda Shoppe and other local destinations. Weekly trips to the library for story hour help foster a love of reading, while visits to the community garden give children hands-on opportunities to plant, grow, and harvest vegetables, teaching responsibility, teamwork, and where food comes from.

At Whistle Stop, school-age care and summer camp are about more than supervision—they’re about giving children a place to belong, explore, and enjoy every season with friends.
